ZINIO BODEGAS

For centuries, storks have nested in the Uruñuela village church, near the ZINIO Bodegas. The people living in the region are called “Storkies.”

The ZINIO Bodegas has a strong bond with the symbol of these birds; it is part of their identity, and it is central to the design of the ZINIO and Terroir de ZINIO range labels.

In 2019, driven by their commitment to the environment, ZINIO developed a project together with Rioja Natura; a zoo park and environment educational center to protect, educate, and create a sustainable local flora and fauna for the birds to nest and flourish.

ZINIO has created two huge nests sites at the vineyards to make it easy for the birds to nest when they come back annually in the spring.

Care and protection of the environment and all our surroundings is one of ZINIO's most important commitments to the region.
